The Sunni Students Federation (SSF), established on April 29, 1973, in Malappuram, Kerala under the guidance of Kanthapuram A. P. Aboobacker Musliyar, is a distinguished Islamic student organization in India. As the student wing of the All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama and Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama, SSF represents a traditional stream of Islamic thought and practice that has been thoughtfully adapted to the context of contemporary student life. Central to its mission is the revival and promotion of the Sufi tradition in Islam, which steadfastly upholds the universal values of pluralism and humanism. Drawing inspiration from the saintly teachings of luminaries such as Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, Ahmad Farooqi Sirhindi, and Ala Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Barelvi, SSF endeavors to empower students through knowledge, discipline, and a strong ethical foundation. Through educational initiatives, cultural programs, and campaigns like Hind Safar (Bharat Yatra) and Sauhruda Kaalam, SSF actively fosters unity, interfaith harmony, and constitutional awareness. The organization also promotes literary and artistic talents through its annual festival, Sahithyolsav, and publishes the influential Risala Weekly, which addresses Islamic teachings and contemporary issues. Affiliated bodies such as the Wisdom Education Foundation of India (WEFI) and the SSF National Campus Syndicate further support SSF’s commitment to nurturing a generation of students dedicated to building a just, compassionate, and harmonious society grounded in both timeless spiritual values and modern aspirations.
